We have the ability to overlay the data produced at the tills into the CCTV camera image. This ability reduces the chance of staff fraud which is one of the biggest areas of loss in a shop.

A camera is aimed at the till area and as the items are scanned the description and price of that item are embedded into the camera image in realtime.
When the total is pressed on the till the sale total is embedded and then the amount of change is also embedded.

This level of detail allows the store owner or manager to scrutinize sales in great detail. However it is our experience that once one of these systems are in place staff do not try to defraud the till as they know they will get caught.
A good deterrent is always better than loss.
Many shops display a small monitor with the overlay - this not only reminds the staff to behave but also the customers. This can help with peer pressure on younger staff.

Some Epos systems are only glorified cash tills and do not keep a stock record on file and are useless in preventing fraud, a better Epos system that has a record of stock holding and can give an accurate level of shop worth is much better. However if the shop has lost 5 bottles of a product the system cannot tell you where it has gone. The CCTV overlay system provided by Shepley helps tighten the knot on theft.
